hi everyone!
It has been a long time since i update this blog... sorry abt that becoz i was busy with my own exams and assignments as well... I tink most of the JC2 should have finish their exams already! YAH! The 2 yrs of torture is finally over!!!!! >.<
For me, I had just finish my exams too! Yah! Time for relaxation and holiday trips!! But i noe some of you guys are going to work soon.. since the 6 months break can be quite long and what better time to spend on earning some $$$$? =P But i noe some people will not work (or work for short periods of time) so that you can spend some time doing what u like! Anyway, either way is fine as long as you choose wisely! =) I remember i screwed up some internship becoz i did not think through my decision first before i purged into it... so i caused abit of trouble for my teacher... =(
So some tips for people who are going to work!
1) Prepare a proper resume! on the net there are alot of self-help resume writing website that you can use for writing a resume. Most important thing is your personal particulars, your qualifications and a passport size photo.. very important for the photo to be big enough for your employers to see (my previous boss told me that, so i learned a lesson =P)
2) interviews: Some interviews do not require formal attire.. example are job agencies... they normally would ask you some questions on your qualifications, your particulars and what jobs you are looking for... some normal causal smart attire is fine... But for a formal interview for a company, best is blouse and black pants/ black skirt for ladies and for men, collar shirt, black pants and smart shoes... choose your attire wisely since it will make the first impression =)
3) Bring your certificates and IC! Very important! Most companies will need a copy of your real certificates for verifications =)
4) Be confident. It is normal to be scared and screwed up abit.. but just try your very best and hope you get the job you want =)
ok now for those who do not wish to work and hope to learn something new! Search the net for some information on the subjects you would like to learn =) However be careful of the price! Some course can be quite expensive! So remember to ask ask ask =)
=) oh yes, Actually the MJC Reach Alumni is holding a tea session on 4 dec 2010... For those who wish to attend, you can contact me at mjcreachalumni@gmail.com! you can bring your friends who are passionate to serve the community again =) Hope to see you there! =)
cheers ^^

Back again with some exam tips!!!
HI everyone!
It has been a long time since i last post on the blog... BUT I saw the farewell video your mathematic teachers did for you all!
I am sure you guys enjoyed it right? =D I enjoyed the farewell alot when i was in MJC.. though the Alevels were near and around the corner, but the support the teachers gave to us was very very heart-warming! Must apprecipate them after the Alevels k? Invite them to class outings (and ask them to pay >.< haha joking)
Anyway, some exams tips for you guys now u all on the study break...
1) Timetable!
For myself, I actually did not have an 'actual' timetable. I actually plan one day in advance.. so for example, on Sunday, I will write down what I want to study on monday. I usually plan my timetable such as i will spend 3 hours on one subject.
Example:
9-12pm: General Paper
It has been a long time since i last post on the blog... BUT I saw the farewell video your mathematic teachers did for you all!
"Study, Study, Study, Study."
"AP, GP, MI, DE"
HAHAHAHAHA! so funny and cute!!
I remember last time when I was in MJC, the math department self-create a song for us... and the tune was created by Ms Ann Koh... damn cute and funny! Now they upgraded liao! Use SuJu "Sorry sorry"!! XDI am sure you guys enjoyed it right? =D I enjoyed the farewell alot when i was in MJC.. though the Alevels were near and around the corner, but the support the teachers gave to us was very very heart-warming! For myself, I actually did not have an 'actual' timetable. I actually plan one day in advance.. so for example, on Sunday, I will write down what I want to study on monday. I usually plan my timetable such as i will spend 3 hours on one subject.
Example:
9-12pm: General Paper
12- 1pm: Lunch (my lunch is around that time)
1- 4pm: H2 Maths
4- 7pm: H2 Chem
7- 9pm: Dinner and watch TV = it is also important to take some break! =D
9- 12pm: H1 Geo
12pm: SLEEP! = it is VERY VERY IMPORTANT to get 8 hrs of sleep! Otherwise, the flu bug may come...
so in 1 day, i can complete at least 3 subjects and if you repeat this from mon to sun.. you should be able to finish =)
2) REST!
It is VERY important to sleep at least 7 hrs a day, even though it can be quite impossible to do... try to stop work by at most 2am in the night, so that the body can rest till at most 10am in the next morning... sleep is important for the brain to work IN THE AFTERNOON! If you didnt sleep well last night, MOST of the time, you will fall asleep in the AFTERNOON which is the longest time that you can use for studying.
3) Find the best studying environment for yourself
Since you guys have been through so many mock exams, prelims, mid terms, you should know what kind of studying environment you work best in... if you work best with friends, STUDY WITH FRIENDS =) If you work best alone at home, then do just that! =) If the airport is good for you, I suppose it will be ok, provided no one chase you out =)
4) Take a break when you are feeling very stressed!
VERY IMPORTANT! If you are feeling stressed or very very saturated with information on cliffs, binomal, MI, Crime and Punishment, Alcohol, alkanes etc TAKE A BREAK! Your body and mind need some rest for studying and this is the time for you to do RELAXING stuffs...
5) WORK HARD!
The journey to Alevels is HARD and you have to work hard for it! STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! There is no short cut or anything.. Seek help from teachers if you have any problems with studying! They will be there to help you... so contact them! =)
I know it can be very very stressful but just hang in there for the next 3 weeks to Alevels... and remember to maintain the momentum... DONT lose stream halfway through... even though some papers are always always so late that when everyone is out partying, some students have to study.... [yes, i went through that horrible period and i had to keep myself off the computer and studied =( ]
My exams are also coming, so I will be working hard with you guys!
So ALL THE BEST!!!! JIAYOU JIAYOU! "GO, GO, GO, GO!" >.<
Cheers >.<

Belated children day!
Hi eveyone again!
I know it is abit too late.. But yesterday was the 1st of October which is CHILDREN DAY! Happy belated Children's Day to all the Meridians! <3 Even though we do not celebrate it since we are 'teens' =( it is still fun to think ourselves as children =D. Life is making yourself happy, even though it may be lame ideas, don't you think?
Anyway, many of you guys have finished the prelims and have received your results. I hope most had done well! :) But for those who didnt do as well, DUN BE discouraged! There are still some time to brush up and practice, practice, practice! Seek help from teachers! They would gladly help you in anyway they can. =)
To end off, this is another poster on stress management and how to deal with it... I think this pamplet was given to secondary school students as postcards.. so those who have younger siblings in secondary schools, you may have seen this =)

CAUTION!
A FLU VIRUS IS INFECTING PEOPLE NOW!
so remember to take care of yourselves! Drink lots of water and eat more fruits etc! YOU don't want to be SICK during THIS CRTICIAL PERIOD OF STUDYING RIGHT? and also DUN get yourself all stressed up and neglect your sleep and rest. I know many, including me when i was studying for Alevels, often stay up late at night just to finish the readings or practices etc... Try not to make that as a habit because you will be accumulating sleep debt and this will results in very exhausted bodies which will become like the equation below:
EXHAUSTION = TIRED = KEEP SLEEPING WHEN STUDYING = NO INFORMATION WENT IN MY HEAD = :x
so have enough rest ok! =)

How to deal with exam stress pic 1 |
Good afternoon to you all!! =)
Thanks to our lovely teacher in-charge, we had posted a poster on how to deal with exam stress! =)
There are some good study tips and breathing exercises that are useful in managing the anxiety you may feel for the Alevels =) I personally feel that the "Stay calm and Stay focused" part particularly useful when i was doing my Alevels =)
I know that many JC2 had finished the prelims!!! YAH!! You all can relax and celebrate for a while since everyone needs a break here and then... so take this time to relax.. because once the results are released...... =/
SO RELAX RELAX NOW =D give yourself a well-deserved break! =D
